About Dave and Vicki
How we met ...

We met at work and admired each other from afar...haha!

The best part was we were really great friends, so we already had so much fun together. Things moved quickly. We moved in together, met the families, and Dave became Dad to little Star.

Over the years, we've done so much, travelled, bought a house, and became dog parents again to our little monster Teddy. We also survived a pandemic ... Now, we're finally getting married after 10 years together. About time eh?

We're best friends and make each other laugh every day. We're each other's person and can't wait to share our special day with you all.

The proposal ...
Haha! It's a funny story. It involved Alexa technology, our doorstep, Love Actually and an elf costume on Christmas Eve. Want to know more, just ask!

Transport & Travel

There will be a bus leaving from Edinburgh and returning to Edinburgh for all guests - if needed.

Journey to Newhall Estate:

The bus for daytime guests will leave Edinburgh at 1 pm. Pick-up is at Edinburgh Zoo, Corstorphine Road.

The bus for evening guests will leave Edinburgh at 6.30 pm. Pick-up is at Edinburgh Zoo, Corstorphine Road.

Journey back to Edinburgh:

The bus will return to Edinburgh for all guests needing it at Midnight and will stop in Edinburgh city center and in Corstorphine.

When you RSVP, you'll be asked if you would like to use the bus. Alternatively, you can use a taxi, which from Edinburgh will cost approximately £20 - £30 each way. So between a few people, that's not so bad. If you're staying locally, ask your accommodation to recommend a local taxi company. We've added some links below to help.

Wedding FAQs

Hopefully this section will answer a few of your questions. If not you can also just ask us.

Question: Is there parking?
Answer: Yes.

Question: If I'm staying at Newhall all weekend can I bring food and drinks with me?
Answer: Yes, we have a huge kitchen so you can bring food and drinks if you like. We'll also be providing lots.
On the Wedding day from 2 pm, you will not be able to consume any alcohol you brought with you. We'll be providing it during the drinks reception and ceremony. There will be a cash/card bar in the evening.

Question: If I'm staying at Newhall all weekend as part of the wedding party, when can I arrive on Friday the 21st of July 2023 and when do we leave on Sunday the 23rd of July 2022?
Answer: Arrival is from 3 pm. We'll show you to your room and you can get settled, explore the grounds and enjoy everything Newhall has to offer. We'll be having food and drinks from 7 pm on Friday evening.
We'll all leave around lunchtime on Sunday.

Question: Is there anything special we need to know about a Scottish wedding?
Answer: Bring your dancing shoes and expect lots of tradition. Plus Dave will be in a kilt!

Question: If I'm making a weekend of it but not staying in the main wedding party house, will there be anything happening on Friday evening - the night before?
Answer: Yes, we'd love you to come to Newhall for a wee informal get-together. We'll have some food and drinks. 7 pm onwards. Just let us know if you'd like to come.

Question: Can I bring my kids/dogs to the wedding?
Answer: We have invited a small group of children. So unless we've specifically spoken to you about it - you'll need a babysitter for the weekend.
As for pets, we might include Teddy in some of our day. But he'll be the only animal guest (we hope haha).
